My new short fleece jacket has a long and somewhat dated history...I’ll try and make it simple.

A long long time ago some lucky women would have breakfast served to them in bed. Sitting up in bed in a nightgown or pajamas could be cold and a bit disheveled looking, so they invented a coat for this! It was called a bed jacket.

I haven't had breakfast in bed in so long I don't even remember the last time! I do however sit in bed to read or play Sudoku or watch TV and feel cold, so I thought…. I need a bed jacket! Voila! Here it is, my new short fleece jacket. 

As I began to design the jacket I considered it primary use (around the house) and tailored the fit accordingly. The jacket is cut with a bit of extra fabric for comfort rather than having a tailored look. It’s shorter in front to make sitting in it comfortable, whether in bed reading or in the den watching TV. If you like a more tailored fit, your seamstress can take in the sides easily. 

I imagine many of us will wind up wearing this jacket out now and again which is great. I hope you will use it to your heart's content staying warm and stylish from the bedroom to the wide world you grace with your elegance!
